Psychotherapy can mean many things. I am a big believer in solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology and psychoeducation. These theories are the basis of my practice. Treatment is always based on a collaborative approach. Patient and provider must work as a team for the greatest outcomes. Therapy is guided by what is important to you. I provide a small amount of therapy in my 25 minute medication follow up appointments, but I also work more intensely with some patients in full 50 minute therapy sessions. Evidence clearly finds that in many cases the combination of medication and psychotherapy provides the greatest recovery.
